Walkers for a small boy

The Rotary Club of Almaty in cooperation with LLanfairfechan and Penmaenmawr Rotary Club members and 1180 District Governor, 1180 District had a charity project  in June-December 2011.

The goal of project was to supply a walking frame to a seven-year-old boy living with a crippling disability in Almaty so that he can be walking more comfortably.

The project was executed by the great support of David Bathers, his club fellows and personal friends and with the support of the District 1180 Governor, who allocated 500 pounds for the purchase of the walking aid.

The Rotary Club of Almaty in its turn found money for transportation of this device from London to Almaty.

The international courier company “Central Asia Parcel” made a very good pricing for transportation.

The Rotarians from Wales could also arrange one additional walking frame which had been delivered to Kazakhstan by good will of Kazakh citizen Arman Samilov, who happened to travel through Wales in October 2011.

The Rotary and the people you know and trust make a difference.  It is so easy just to send $ not knowing where the money is spent, but isn’t it important to see the equipment being collected and delivered?
